MORAVIAN WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TEAM,
TWO PLAYERS RANKED IN LATEST NCAA STATISTICS RELEASE
INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- The Moravian College women’s basketball
team is ranked two categories in the fifth NCAA III Division women’s
basketball statistical ranking released Tuesday, and the Greyhounds
have two players ranked. The statistics include games through January
28th.
Senior forward Kelly Applegate (Easton, PA/Wilson HS),
pictured at right, is 39th in the country at 83.8 percent (88 of
105) at the foul line. Applegate is one of 11 players
ranked in the top 50 to have attempted at least 100 free throws
this season. Freshman guard Jessica Foran (Annandale, NJ/Rutgers
Prep HS), pictured below) is 43rd in the nation in free
throw percentage, connecting on 83.1 percent (54 of 65) of her free
throw attempts.
The
Greyhounds are 13th in the nation in free throw percentage at 74.4
percent (323 of 434), and Moravian is 20th in the country in steals
per game with an average of 13.9.
Moravian is 10-8 on the season and will return to action on Tuesday,
January 30th in a Commonwealth Conference game versus Albright College
tipping off at 7:00 p.m. in Johnston Hall.
