MORAVIAN WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TEAM,
TWO PLAYERS RANKED IN LATEST NCAA STATISTICS RELEASE
INDIANAPOLIS,
IN --- The Moravian College women’s basketball team is ranked
two categories in the sixth NCAA III Division women’s basketball
statistical ranking released Tuesday, and the Greyhounds have two
players ranked. The statistics include games through February 4th.
Freshman guard Jessica Foran (Annandale, NJ/Rutgers Prep
HS), pictured at right, is 29th in the nation in free throw
percentage, connecting on 84.5 percent (60 of 71) of her free throw
attempts. Senior forward Kelly Applegate (Easton, PA/Wilson
HS) is 35th in the country at 84.0 percent (100 of 119)
at the foul line. Applegate, pictured below, is
one of 14 players ranked in the top 50 to have attempted at least
100 free throws this season.
The
Greyhounds are sixth in the nation in free throw percentage at 75.5
percent (373 of 464), and Moravian is 26th in the country in steals
per game with an average of 13.3.
Moravian is 11-10 on the season and will return to action on Wednesday,
February 7th in a Commonwealth Conference game at Lebanon Valley
College tipping off at 6:00 p.m. in Annville.
