MORAVIAN WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TEAM,
TWO PLAYERS RANKED IN LATEST NCAA STATISTICS RELEASE
INDIANAPOLIS,
IN --- The Moravian College women’s basketball team is ranked
two categories in the seventh NCAA III Division women’s basketball
statistical ranking released Tuesday, and the Greyhounds have two
players ranked. The statistics include games through February 11th.
Freshman guard Jessica Foran (Annandale, NJ/Rutgers Prep
HS), pictured at right, is tied for 30th in the nation
in free throw percentage, connecting on 84.6 percent (66 of 78)
of her free throw attempts. Senior forward Kelly Applegate
(Easton, PA/Wilson HS), pictured below, is tied for 41st
in the country at 83.3 percent (110 of 132) at the foul line. Applegate
is one of 20 players ranked in the top 50 to have attempted at least
100 free throws this season.
The
Greyhounds are second in the nation in free throw percentage at
75.7 percent (414 of 547), and Moravian is 27th in the country in
steals per game with an average of 13.1.
Moravian is 13-10 on the season and will return to action on Wednesday,
February 14th in a Commonwealth Conference game at Widener University
tipping off at 6:00 p.m. in Chester.
