MORAVIAN FIELD HOCKEY SQUAD SELECTED SIXTH IN LANDMARK CONFERENCE PRESEASON POLL

MADISON, N.J. --- The 2007 Moravian College field hockey team has been picked to finish sixth in the inaugural Landmark Conference season in a preseason poll selected by the conference’s head coaches and sports information directors.

Juniata College, which reached the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament last year as an at-large selection was picked first in the poll with 60 points while The University of Scranton and The Catholic University of America tied for second with 50 points apiece. Susquehanna University finished fourth in the preseason voting with 34 points while Drew University collected 25 points to finish fifth. Rounding out the poll were the Greyhounds with 23 points and Goucher College with 11 points.

Moravian looks to move forward with the progression the team has posted over the last few years with seven returning starters and 14 returning letterwinners back for the 2007 season under the direction of head coach Amy Endler. The team began its preseason on Sunday, August 19th.

The Greyhounds begin their 2007 season on Saturday, September 1st in a non-conference match versus Wilkes University on Betty Prince Field beginning at 1:00 p.m. and Moravian will play its first-ever Landmark Conference regular season contest on Saturday, September 22nd when the Greyhounds travel to Juniata. The top four teams in the Landmark Conference regular season will advance to the postseason while begins on Wednesday, October 31st.
