MORAVIAN WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY TEAM PICKED FIFTH IN LANDMARK CONFERENCE PRESEASON POLL

MADISON, N.J. --- The 2007 Moravian College women’s cross country team has been selected fifth in the inaugural Landmark Conference season in a preseason poll selected by the conference’s head coaches and sports information directors.

The Catholic University of America was selected first in the poll with 71 points, eight points ahead of The University of Scranton with 63 points. Susquehanna University was third with 51 points while Juniata College was in fourth place with 46 points. The Greyhounds earned 40 points for the fifth spot. Rounding out the poll were Goucher College in sixth place with 27 points, Drew University in seventh place with 20 points and the United States Merchant Marine Academy with 18 points.

Moravian returns six letterwinners returning on the women’s team. The cross country squad is going into the 2007 season with high hopes ahead of them as second-year head coach Welles Lobb looks into building his young teams up enough to be a top competitor in the Landmark Conference. The team began its preseason on Wednesday, August 22nd.

The Greyhounds begin their 2007 season on Friday, September 7th at the Lehigh Valley Games hosted by Lehigh University on the Goodman Campus at 5:00 p.m. The inaugural Landmark Conference championship meet will be held on Saturday, October 27th at Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland.
