MORAVIAN’S BRAXMEIER & BOCCHINO NAMED TO CENTENNIAL CONFERENCE WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

LANCASTER, PA --- Junior quarterback Marc Braxmeier (Center Valley, PA/Allentown Central Catholic HS) and junior defensive end Douglas Bocchino (Madison, NJ/Madison HS) of the Moravian College football team have earned spots on the Centennial Conference Weekly Honor Roll for their performance in the Greyhounds’ 28-13 victory versus Juniata College Saturday.

Braxmeier, pictured at right, completed ten of 21 passes for 168 yards and two touchdowns, and he added 22 yards and a touchdown on five carries in Moravian’s Homecoming win over Juniata.  Braxmeier had touchdown passes of 47 and 26 yards to go with a ten-yard touchdown run in the first half as the Greyhounds built a 28-0 lead.  He was eight for 15 for 155 yards and the two scores in the first half and played just three series in the second half.  Braxmeier now has 17 touchdown passes this season, which ranks second in a single season at Moravian and is the most since Rob Petrosky threw for 16 touchdowns in 1999.

Bocchino, pictured at left, had one of his best games of the season for the Moravian defense in the Greyhounds’ win over Juniata.  Bocchino had six tackles in the game with two solo stops, one of Moravian’s three sacks, which he forced a fumble on, one and a half tackles for loss and a pass break-up.

Moravian, which is 6-2 overall and 4-2 in Centennial Conference action returns to action on Saturday, October 27th in a Centennial Conference game at Ursinus College with kickoff slated for 1:00 p.m. at Patterson Field in Collegeville.
