MORAVIAN’S CHRIS NEDEROSTEK HONORED AS ECAC DIVISION III SOUTH DEFENSIVE OF THE WEEK

CAPE COD, MA --- Junior goalie Chris Nederostek (Lansdale, PA/Christopher Dock HS) of the Moravian College men’s soccer team has been named  the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Division III South Men’s Soccer Defensive of the Week for his performance last week.

Nederostek, who also earned Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Week this week, led the Greyhounds to a 2-0 record last week in Landmark Conference action with a 2-1 overtime win at The University of Scranton and a 3-0 shutout of The Catholic University of America.  Nederostek had a 0.48 goals-against average for the week with just one goal allowed in 189:09 minutes of action, and he registered 18 saves in 19 shots on goal for a .947 save percentage.  The shutout of Catholic was Nederostek's second shutout of the season, and he made seven of his 18 saves in the contest.

Moravian, which is 7-10 overall, is scheduled to close out the 2007 regular season on Saturday, October 27th in a Landmark Conference home match versus Drew University beginning at 3:00 p.m. on the HUB Quad.  The Greyhounds can clinch a playoff berth with a victory in the contest.
