12 GREYHOUNDS EARN ALL-CENTENNIAL CONFERENCE FOOTBALL HONORS
Junior Quarterback Marc Braxmeier & Senior Offensive Lineman Eric Adams Named to First Team

LANCASTER, PA --- The Moravian College football team has had 11 players named to the 2007 All-Centennial Conference Football Teams announced Monday with junior quarterback Marc Braxmeier (Center Valley, PA/Allentown Central Catholic HS) and senior offensive lineman Eric Adams (Dover, NJ/Dover HS) earning first team honors.

The Greyhounds had seven All-Centennial Conference Second Team honorees with senior wide receiver Sean Hill (West Reading, PA/Wyomissing HS), senior tight end Kris Bisci (Easton, PA/Easton HS) and senior offensive linemen Dave Kircher (Manasquan, NJ/Manasquan HS) and Jeff Kocsis (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic HS) making the offensive squad and juniors linebacker Andrew Morrissey (Emmaus, PA/Emmaus HS) and defensive linemen Douglas Bocchino (Madison, NJ/Madison HS) and Don Maxwell (Berkeley Heights, NJ/Governor Livingston HS) on the defensive squad.  Junior kicker Brian Reckenbeil (Branchburg, NJ/Somerville HS), junior fullback Morgan deRouen (West Milford, NJ/West Milford HS) and junior defensive back Carl Robinson (Boothwyn, PA/Garnet Valley HS) each earned All-Centennial Conference Honorable Mention.

Moravian posted a 6-4 overall record in its first year as a member of the Centennial Conference with a 45-4 mark in conference action.  The Greyhounds finished tied for tied for fifth in the conference standings and were fourth in the preseason poll.

Braxmeier, pictured at left, had a breakout season in his first full year as the Greyhounds’ starter, completing 129 of 236 passes for 1,948 yards with 17 touchdowns and ten interceptions in nine games with a quarterback efficiency rating of 139.29.  His 17 touchdown passes are the second most in a single season in the Moravian record books while his 1,948 yards ranks fifth in the single season record books.  Braxmeier threw four touchdown passes in the 34-27 season opening win at Susquehanna University and in a 44-41 win at Johns Hopkins University tying the school record for touchdown passes in a game.  Braxmeier also had four rushing touchdowns this season.

Adams, pictured at top right, Kircher, pictured at left, and Kocsis, pictured at right, helped the Moravian offense average 344.7 yards of offense per game this season including 143.3 yards per game on the ground.  The trio also helped the Greyhounds control the ball for an average of 31:06 each game while scoring 29 offensive touchdowns, 12 rushing and 17 passing. Kocsis has now earned All-Conference honors for three straight years in three different conferences. He was a second team All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East selection in 2005 as a member of the East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania team, and Kocsis was on the All-Middle Atlantic Conference Second Team last year in his first season at Moravian. Adams and Kocsis were two of Moravians' four team captains this season.

Hill, pictured at right in just his second season as a wide receiver, caught a team high 32 passes for 606 yards and eight touchdowns.  Hill’s yardage total ranks ninth in single season history at Moravian and is just the second receiver in the last 13 years to go over 600 yards receiving in a season.  His eight touchdowns are tied for the third most in a season in the Greyhound record books.

Bisci, pictured at left, caught 19 passes for 252 yards and two touchdowns in 2007 despite missing three games with an injured foot.  Bisci, a four-year starter at tight end, completed his career ranked 17th in school history with 73 career receptions, and he had 797 yards and ten touchdowns in his career, averaging 10.9 yards per reception.

Morrissey, a three-year starter at linebacker for the Greyhounds, led Moravian in tackles this season despite missing the final game of the year with an injury.  Morrissey, pictured at right, had 75 tackles with 35 solo stops, six tackles for loss, a fumble recovery and a team high four forced fumbles this season.  Morrissey, who was also a team captain for the Greyhounds this year, has a career total of 233 tackles after three seasons and will have a chance to reach the top ten in school history next season.

Bocchino, pictured at left, had 40 tackles this season including 18 solo stops after missing the first game of the year with an injury.  He added six tackles for loss, three sacks, a forced fumble, a pass break-up, a fumble recovery in the end zone for a touchdown at Johns Hopkins University and an interception returned 45yards for a touchdown versus Lebanon Valley College.

Maxwell, pictured at right, contributed 39 tackles this fall with 12 solo stops, two and a half tackles for loss, a half a sack and a fumble recovery for his defensive end position.

Reckenbeil, pictured at left, had the best season as a kicker in school history, setting the school mark with 62 points on 29-of-29 extra-points and 11-of-20 field goals with a long of 37 yards.  Reckenbeil, who was on the All-Middle Atlantic Conference Second Team as a freshman in 2005, became just the third kicker in Moravian history to reach 100 career points on September 8th and set the all-time school record for scoring by a kicker on September 29th.  Reckenbeil is first all-time with 154 career points on 70 extra-points (second all-time) and 28 field goals (first all-time).  Reckenbeil needs four extra-points to set the school record, and has made 38 straight extra-points dating back to the 2006 season. 

deRouen, pictured at right, started the season at fullback before seeing action at tailback due to injuries in the Moravian backfield.  deRouen had 399 yards and two touchdowns on 63 attempts with a long of 34 yards before an injury at Franklin & Marshall sidelined him for the remainder of the season.

Robinson, pictured at left, led the Moravian defense with five interceptions in 2007 including four in a span of three games in the middle of the season.  Robinson added 51 tackles with 26 solo stops, a half a tackle of loss, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in his second season as a starter for the Greyhounds at safety. Robinson also served as one of the Greyhounds' four team captains this fall.
