MORAVIAN’S JOE MELCHIONNA HONORED AS LANDMARK CONFERENCE BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Sophomore pitcher Joe Melchionna (Marlboro, NJ/St. John Vianney HS) of the Moravian College baseball team has been named the inaugural Landmark Conference Pitcher of the Week for his performance last week.

Melchionna led Moravian to a 5-1 victory over Franciscan University in the team's first game of its spring break trip to Cocoa Beach, Florida. The victory was Melchionna's second of the season, and he allowed an unearned run on three hits and a walk while striking out two batters in six innings of action.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Monday, March 4th in a non-conference doubleheader versus Wilkes University at the Cocoa Beach Expo beginning at 9:00 a.m.
