THREE GREYHOUNDS & MORAVIAN TEAM RANKED IN NCAA DIVISION III WOMEN’S BASKETBALL STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Sophomores guard Jessica Foran (Annandale, NJ/Rutgers Prep HS) and forwards Alyssa Bisci (Easton, PA/Easton HS) and Kirsty Stearns (East Norwich, NY/Oyster Bay HS) along with the Moravian College women’s basketball team are ranked in free throw percentage in the 11th NCAA Division III statistics release of the 2007-08 season including games through March 9th.

Stearns, pictured at right, is fourth in the country at 91.7 percent for the season, and Stearns is 82 of 90 at the line having played in 26 games for the Greyhounds. 

Foran, who is pictured at left reached the minimum for percent of team games played midway through the season due to early season injuries, is currently seventh in the nation in free throw percentage at 89.1 percent, having made 106 of 119 free throws this season.  Foran, who missed five games at the start of the season, has played in 22 of Moravian’s 27 games this season.

Bisci, pictured at bottom right, is currently tied for 14th in the nation in free throw percentage at 87.1 percent, and she has made 88 of 101 free throws in 23 games this season, having missed four games with an injury early in the year. 

Moravian is ranked eighth in free throw percentage this season at 76.1 percent, making 502 of 660 free throw attempts.  The Greyhounds have made 46 more free throws than their opponents have attempted this season.

The Greyhounds finished the 2007-08 season at 16-11 overall and were 9-5 in Landmark Conference action.  Moravian participated in the postseason for the seventh straight year, playing in both the Landmark Conference Tournament and Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Division III Southern Championships.
