MORAVIAN’S ERICA SPATZ NAMED LANDMARK CONFERENCE WOMEN’S LACROSSE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Senior midfielder Erica Spatz (Pennsauken, NJ/Pennsauken HS) of the Moravian College women’s lacrosse team has been named as the Landmark Conference Offensive Player of the Week for her performance last week.

Spatz continued one of the best individual seasons in school history as the Greyhounds posted a 2-1 record last week to improve to 8-6 on the year, five more wins than the previous best season.  For the week, Spatz had 19 goals and four assists for 23 points while taking just 27 shots.  She also had 11 ground balls, 18 draw controls and a game-winning goal.

Spatz began the week with a career high eight goals in a 14-8 win over Wesley College.  Also during the week, Spatz set single season school records for goals in a season (53), assists in a season (13), points in a season (66) and draw controls in a match with 10 at Goucher.  She is just five goals away from becoming the third player in school history to reach 100 career goals, and Spatz missed her entire sophomore season due to a knee injury.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, April 26th in the team’s final Landmark Conference match of the season at Susquehanna University beginning at 12:00 p.m.
