MORAVIAN’S JESSICA POSIMO & ANNA HEIM HONORED AS LANDMARK CONFERENCE
WOMEN’S TRACK AND FIELD ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Sophomore sprinter/jumper Jessica Posimo (Philadelphia, PA/St. Basil Academy) of the Moravian College women’s outdoor track & field team has been honored as the Landmark Conference Women’s Track Athlete of the Week while sophomore pole vaulter Anna Heim (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown HS) was named the Landmark Conference Women’s Field Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week for their performances last week at the non-scoring Greyhound Invitational.

Posimo, pictured at right, set a school record for the second consecutive week in the 100-meter hurdles at the Greyhound Invitational with a runner-up time of 15.04 seconds.  Posimo was also 11th in the 200-meter dash in 25.84 seconds, and she ran a leg on Moravian's 4x100-meter relay team, which was third in the race in an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 48.07 seconds.  Posimo was eighth in the long jump at 5.39 meters (17 feet, 8 1/4 inches), and she was also eighth in the triple jump at 10.79 meters (35 feet, five inches).

Heim, pictured at left, captured the pole vault at the Greyhound Invitational in a school record, meet record and NCAA Division III automatic qualifying height of 3.85 meters (12 feet, 7 1/2 inches). Heim, who broke the school mark for the second straight week, nearly cleared her next height at 13 feet.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday and Sunday, April 26th and 27th as the team hosts the 2008 Landmark Conference Championships at Rocco Calvo Field and Timothy Breidegam Track.
