MORAVIAN’S OZZIE BROWN NAMED ECAC DIVISION III MEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

CAPE COD, MA --- Senior sprinter/jumper Ozzie Brown (Plymouth Meeting, PA/Plymouth Whitemarsh HS) of the Moravian College men’s outdoor track & field team has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Men’s Track Athlete of the Week for his performance last weekend at the non-scoring Greyhound Invitational.

Brown captured first in three events at the Greyhound Invitational, winning the 100-meter dash in an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 10.63 seconds, the 200-meter dash in an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 21.71 seconds and the long jump in an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying distance of 7.25 meters (23 feet, 9 1/2 inches).

Brown would set the school record with a third place finish in the 110-meter high hurdles with an NCAA Division III automatic qualifying time of 14.27 seconds, and Brown helped the 4x100-meter relay team to a third place finish in a school record and NCAA Division III provisional qualifying time of 41.88 seconds.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday and Sunday, April 26th and 27th as the team hosts the 2008 Landmark Conference Championships at Rocco Calvo Field and Timothy Breidegam Track.
