MORAVIAN’S MARIA DEBONIS, ELIZABETH PYTHON & SOFTBALL TEAM RANKED IN
NCAA DIVISION III SOFTBALL STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Junior pitcher Maria DeBonis (Nazareth, PA/Notre Dame HS), freshman pitcher Elizabeth Python (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman HS) and the Moravian College softball team are ranked in the third NCAA Division III statistics release of the 2008 season including games through April 20th.

DeBonis, pictured at right, is 13th in the nation in hits allowed per seven innings at 3.9, 19th in strikeouts per seven innings at 9.0 and 16th in ERA with a 0.92 ERA through 15 appearances this spring.

Python, pictured at left is 42nd in the nation in hits allowed per seven innings at 5.44, tied for 47th  in victories at 12.0 with DeBonis, and  29th in walks allowed per seven innings at 1.16 through 14 appearances this spring.

Moravian is ranked 6th in the nation with a fielding percentage of .973, tied for 19th in win-loss percentage at .813 and the Greyhounds are 14th in earned run average with a 1.33 ERA through the first 34 games of 2008.

The Greyhounds, who are 28-6 overall on the season and 10-0 in Landmark Conference action, are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, April 26th in a conference doubleheader vs. Drew University beginning at 1:00 p.m.at Blue and Grey Field.
