MORAVIAN’S SPATZ & ROSENBERG NAMED TO WOMEN’S LACROSSE LANDMARK ALL-CONFERENCE TEAMS

MADISON, N.J. --- Senior midfielder Erica Spatz (Pennsauken, NJ/Pennsauken HS) of the Moravian College women’s lacrosse team has been named to the 2008 Landmark All-Conference First Team while sophomore goalie Courtney Rosenberg (Cape May, NJ/Lower Cape May Regional HS) earned a spot on the 2008 Landmark All-Conference Second Team as released by the conference office.

Moravian had its best season in the six-year history of the program with the Greyhounds’ first-ever winning record of 9-7, and the Greyhounds were 0-5 in the inaugural Landmark Conference season.  Moravian scored over 20 goals in four matches this spring including a school record 25 against Alvernia, and the Greyhounds netted a school record 220 goals for the season.

Spatz, pictured at top right, had the best season in school history by setting school marks with 62 goals, 15 assists and 77 points this spring.  She also had team highs of 57 ground balls and 57 draw controls to go with 11 caused turnovers.  Spatz completed her career with 104 goals and 20 assists, which is tied for the school record, for 124 points in just three seasons as she missed all but one half of a match as a sophomore due to an injury.  She is the school record holder with 155 draw controls and fourth all-time with 144 ground balls.

Rosenberg, who is in her first season with the Moravian program, started all 16 matches in goal for the Greyhounds while posting a 9-7 record.  She had a school record 13.62 goals-against average for the year to go along with 196 saves in 912 minutes of action.   Rosenberg, pictured at left, also had 35 ground balls on the year.
