MORAVIAN’S HARRISON & EARLEY NAMED LEHIGH VALLEY SMALL COLLEGE BASKETBALL TEAMS OF THE YEAR;

BETHLEHEM, PA --- Sophomore Kate Harrison (Cold Spring Harbor, NY/Cold Spring Harbor HS) and senior Chris Earley (Brielle, NJ/Manasquan HS) from the Moravian College basketball teams have been named to the Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Teams of the Year by the Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Organization at its third luncheon of the 2007-08 season at Starters Restaurant in Bethlehem. 

The Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Organization is made up of the seven small college schools in the Lehigh Valley including NCAA Division II schools East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania and Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and NCAA Division III schools Cedar Crest College, Delaware Valley College, DeSales University, Moravian College and Muhlenberg College.

Harrison, a guard, has helped the Moravian women to a 14-8 overall record and a 7-4 record in Landmark Conference action.  Harrison, pictured at right, is tied for second on the Moravian squad in scoring with average of 10.6 points per game, and she is grabbing 4.2 rebounds per contest.  Harrison has added 46 assists, 28 steals and 13 blocked shots while starting all 22 games for the Greyhounds.

Joining Harrison on the Team of the Year were Kelly Oakes from Cedar Crest, Moira Donohue of Delaware Valley, LeighAnn Burke from DeSales, Jackie Yandrisevits of East Stroudsburg, Melissa McQuade from Kutztown and Lauren Boyle of Muhlenberg.  Burke was selected as the Pete Nevins Women’s Player of the Year in a vote by the media, coaches and sports information directors in attendance.

Earley, a forward, has helped the Greyhounds to a 17-5 overall record and an 8-3 mark in Landmark Conference action.  Earley, pictured at left, is second on the Moravian squad in scoring at 14.1 points per game and leads the team in rebounding at 7.9 rebounds per contest.  Earley also leads the team in assists with an average of 2.4 per game to go along with 24 steals and 17 blocked shots, and he is shooting 79.2 percent at the foul line and 49.3 percent from the field.

Joining Earley on the Team of the Year were Jason Seipt of Delaware Valley, Phil Stricker from DeSales, Channon Easley of East Stroudsburg, Dave Ben from Kutztown and Mike Bernardini of Muhlenberg.  Ben was selected as the Pete Nevins Men’s Player of the Year for the second consecutive year.
