MORAVIAN’S OZZIE BROWN HONORED AS LANDMARK CONFERENCE MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Senior jumper/sprinter Ozzie Brown (Plymouth Meeting, PA/Plymouth Whitemarsh HS) of the Moravian College men’s indoor track & field team has been named the Landmark Conference Men’s Field Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.

Brown, who is being honored by the Landmark Conference for the fourth time this season and the second time for his field performance, had the Greyhounds' top individual finish at the Lafayette Rider Winter Games at the New York City Track & Field Armory, winning the long jump with an NCAA Division III automatic and Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference qualifying leap of 7.29 meters (23 feet, 11 inches). Brown's jump was the longest of the season in NCAA Division III.

Brown had two other top ten finishes for Moravian, placing fourth in the 60-meter hurdles in an NCAA Division III provisional and ECAC qualifying time of 8.21 seconds and seventh in the 200-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 22.36 seconds. Brown was 14th in the 60-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 7.10 seconds.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, February 23rd in the inaugural Landmark Conference Indoor Championships being hosted by Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove.
