THREE GREYHOUNDS & MORAVIAN TEAM RANKED IN NCAA DIVISION III WOMEN’S BASKETBALL STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Sophomores guard Jessica Foran (Annandale, NJ/Rutgers Prep HS) and forwards Alyssa Bisci (Easton, PA/Easton HS) and Kirsty Stearns (East Norwich, NY/Oyster Bay HS) along with the Moravian College women’s basketball team are ranked in free throw percentage in the ninth NCAA Division III statistics release of the 2007-08 season including games through February 24th.

Stearns, pictured at right, is ranked fourth in the country at 91.5 percent for the season, and Stearns is 75 of 82 at the line having played in all 24 games for the Greyhounds.

Foran, pictured at left, is currently fifth in the nation in free throw percentage at 91.3 percent, having made 95 of 104 free throws this season.  Foran, who missed five games at the start of the season and needed until three weeks ago to reach the minimum of 75 percent of the teams' games to qualify for the NCAA statistics, has played in just 20 of Moravian’s 25 games this season.

Bisci, pictured at bottom right, is currently tied for 11th in the nation in free throw percentage at 87.1 percent, and she has made 88 of 101 free throws in 21 games this season, having missed four games with an injury early in the year.

Moravian is ranked tenth in free throw percentage this season at 75.6 percent, making 473 of 626 free throw attempts.  The Greyhounds have made 40 more free throws than their opponents have attempted this season.

The Greyhounds, who are 16-9 overall and 9-5 in Landmark Conference action, will return to action on Wednesday, February 27th in a Landmark Conference Semifinal game at Juniata College, tipping off at 7:00 p.m. in Huntingdon.  Moravian is the third seed in the tournament while the Eagles are seeded second.
