MORAVIAN TO HOST #17 SALISBURY UNIVERSITY IN ECAC SOUTHWEST BOWL GAME

CAPE COD, MA --- The Moravian College football team has been awarded a berth in the 2008 Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Southwest Bowl Championship game on Saturday, November 22nd, and the Greyhounds will host 17th-ranked Salisbury University at Rocco Calvo Field at 12:00 p.m.

Moravian, which is 8-2 on the season, is making its fourth appearance in the ECAC Championships, playing the Southeast game in 2002 and the Southwest game in 2004 and 2005.  The Greyhounds won the 2005 contest with a 14-7 victory at Frostburg State University.  This is Moravian’s first home game in the ECAC Championships.

The Sea Gulls, who are also 8-2 on the year, are also making their fourth appearance in the ECAC Championships.  Salisbury won the South Atlantic game in 2006 and the Southeast title in 2005. 

The Greyhounds have won four-straight games after a 27-24 overtime upset victory over then-sixth ranked rival Muhlenberg College.  Salisbury, which has the top-ranked rushing offense in the nation at 397 yards per game, is coming off of a 55-14 win over Frostburg State.

Saturday’s other three ECAC South Bowl games include Centennial Conference rival Johns Hopkins University (8-2) hosting The Catholic University of America (8-2) in the Southeast game, Kean (NJ) University (7-3) at Delaware Valley College (7-3) in the South Atlantic Bowl and Albright College (7-3) at Montclair State (NJ) University (8-2) in the South Central game.  All four contests will kick off at 12:00 p.m.
