LANCASTER, PA --- Seniors kicker Brian Reckenbeil (Branchburg, NJ/Somerville HS), running back Tyler McCambridge (Northampton, PA/Allentown Central Catholic HS) and defensive back Carl Robinson (Boothwyn, PA/Garnet Valley HS), junior linebacker Michael Bishop (Nazareth, PA/Bethlehem Catholic HS) and sophomores linebacker Michael Crann (Columbia, NJ/North Warren Regional HS) and wide receiver Alex Hersch (Macungie, PA/Emmaus HS) have been named to the 2008 Centennial Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll.

The Centennial Conference recognized 300 student-athletes for performance in the classroom and field of play including 49 football players.  To be nominated for the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll, a student must meet the following criteria: be a starter or key reserve on the team, a sophomore or higher in class standing and have a cumulative GPA of 3.40 or higher.

Reckenbeil, who was named to the All-Centennial Conference First Team and the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District First Team this fall, has continued to rewrite the Moravian record books with the best season as a kicker in school history, setting the school mark with 67 points on 28-of-28 extra-points and 13-of-19 field goals with a school record and career long of 47 yards.  Reckenbeil, pictured at right, is the all-time leading scorer at Moravian among all players with 221 career points, and he has made 98 extra-points and 41 field goals in four seasons.  Reckenbeil, who was on the All-Centennial Conference Second Team a year ago, has set the conference record with 57 straight extra-points over the last two seasons, and he has made 66 straight dating back to September 2006.  Reckenbeil is majoring in biology.

McCambridge, who has missed two of the last three games with an injury, has a team high 812 yards and nine touchdowns on 138 carries that included a career long run of 79 yards at Gettysburg College, the fifth longest run in school history.  McCambridge, who was on the All-Centennial Conference Second Team and the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District First Team this fall, is currently seventh in school history with 2,132 career rushing yards and fifth in career rushing attempts with 444.  McCambridge, who has 18 career rushing touchdowns, needs just 46 yards to move into sixth all-time, and he has caught the second longest touchdown pass in school history this season covering 80 yards against Johns Hopkins University.  McCambridge, who was on the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll in 2007, is majoring in biology.

Bishop, pictured at left, has contributed seven tackles and a fumble recovery in his second season with Moravian.  Bishop is majoring in accounting.

The Greyhounds will close out the 2008 season by hosting Salisbury University in the 2008 ECAC Division III Southwest Bowl on Saturday, November 22nd with kickoff slated for 12:00 p.m. at Rocco Calvo Field.  Moravian was 6-2 and tied for second in the Centennial Conference this fall.
