MORAVIAN’S BISCI & HARRISON NAMED TO WOMEN’S BASKETBALL LANDMARK ALL-CONFERENCE TEAMS

MADISON, N.J. --- Junior guard/forward Kate Harrison (Cold Spring Harbor, NY/Cold Spring Harbor HS) of the Moravian College women’s basketball team has been named to the 2009 Landmark All-Conference First Team while junior forward Alyssa Bisci (Easton, PA/Easton HS) earned a spot on the Landmark All-Conference Second Team as released by the conference office.

Moravian has posted a 21-6 record this season including a 9-5 mark during the Landmark Conference campaign to earn the second seed in the upcoming Landmark Conference Tournament.  The Greyhounds have earned one of three Pool B berths to the 2009 NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament, and will host the first and second round games in Johnston Hall on Friday, March 6th and Saturday, March 7th.  Moravian will play Tufts (MA) University on Friday no earlier than 7:00 p.m.

Harrison, who was named to the Landmark All-Conference Second Team last season, is netting in 10.8 points per game to go along with an average of 5.4 rebounds per contest.  Harrison, pictured at right, leads Moravian with 92 assists and 35 steals while committing just 68 turnovers while playing 26.8 minutes per game.  She also has 21 blocked shots and is shooting 72.7 percent (56 of 77) at the foul line this season.

Bisci, who was also on the Landmark All-Conference Second Team a year ago, leads Moravian in scoring at 11.7 points per game, and she is grabbing 4.9 rebounds per game.  Bisci, pictured at left, has added 32 steals, 30 assists, ten three-pointers and four blocked shots.  She is currently seventh in the nation in free throw percentage at 90.1 percent, making 127 of 141 free throws as the Greyhounds lead the country in free throw shooting at 80.2 percent (543 of 677) for the season as a team.
