MORAVIAN’S THOMAS FENYAK NAMED LANDMARK CONFERENCE BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Freshman pitcher Thomas Fenyak (Centreville, VA/Westfield HS) of the Moravian College baseball team has been named the Landmark Conference Pitcher of the Week for his performance last week.

Fenyak posted a 2-0 record with a 0.00 ERA in a 3-1 week for the Greyhounds.  Fenyak tossed a perfect inning of relief to earn the victory in Moravian's 11-10 win over Albright College to open the 2009 home season at Gillespie Field.  Fenyak finished the week with seven shutout innings in a 12-1 Landmark Conference win at Susquehanna University in his first conference start.

For the week, Fenyak pitched eight innings with no runs allowed, four hits, two walks and seven strikeouts.  He did hit one batter and had a wild pitch while making one assist in the field.  Fenyak is 4-1 on the year.

Moravian, which is 9-5 overall and 2-1 in Landmark Conference action, is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, March 17th in a non-conference game at rival Muhlenberg College beginning at 3:30 p.m.
