MORAVIAN’S SYDNI WISNIEWSKI & JESSICA POSIMO HONORED AS LANDMARK CONFERENCE
WOMEN’S TRACK AND FIELD ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Sophomore sprinter Sydni Wisniewski (Orlando, FL/Winter Park HS) of the Moravian College women’s out track & field team has been named the Landmark Conference Women’s Track Athlete of the Week while junior jumper/sprinter/hurdler Jessica Posimo (Philadelphia, PA/St. Basil Academy) earned Landmark Conference Women’s Field Athlete of the Week for their performances last week.

The duo helped Moravian begin the 2009 outdoor season with a first-place finish at the Lafayette Colelge 8-Way Meet hosted at Moravian.

Wisniewski, pictured at right, won the 400-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 58.76 seconds, and was part of Moravian's 4x100-meter relay squad that posted an ECAC qualifying time of 48.70 seconds while winning the race.  Wisniewski was the runner-up in the 200-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 25.74 seconds.

Posimo, pictured at left, captured the long jump with an NCAA Division III provisional and ECAC qualifying distance of 5.52 meters (18 feet, 1 1/2 inches) and the 100-meter hurdles in an NCAA Division III provisional and ECAC qualifying time of 14.92 seconds.  Posimo took fourth in the 200-meter dash an ECAC qualifying time of 26.23 seconds, and she was ninth in the high jump, clearing 1.55 meters (five feet, one inch).  Posimo also ran a leg on Moravian’s winning 4x100-meter relay squad.

Moravian will return to action on Saturday, April 4th at the Muhlenberg College Invitational at Scotty Wood Stadium in Allentown beginning at 10:00 a.m.
