SENIOR MARIA DeBONIS; MORAVIAN TEAM RANKED IN NCAA DIVISION III SOFTBALL STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- The Moravian College softball team and one student-athlete are ranked in the third NCAA Division III statistics release of the 2009 season including games through April 12th.

Senior pitcher/designated player Maria DeBonis (Nazareth, PA/Notre Dame HS) is 11th in the nation in hits allowed per seven innings at 3.91, 17th in ERA at 0.99, 30th in strikeouts per seven innings with an average of 8.0 and tied for 41st in victories with 11.

The Greyhounds are ranked in the top 50 in the nation in seven categories including being sixth in the country in ERA at 0.92.  Moravian is 38th in doubles per game with an average of 1.78, 26th in fielding percentage at .968, 34th in slugging percentage at .485, tied for 34th in triples per game with an average of 0.44, 30th in batting average at .346 and tied for 43rd in winning percentage at .750.

Moravian, which is 24-8 on the season, is scheduled to return to action on Thursday, April 16th in a non-conference doubleheader at Ramapo College of New Jersey beginning at 3:00 p.m.
