MORAVIAN’S JENNA CARMON NAMED LANDMARK CONFERENCE SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Freshman pitcher/designated player Jenna Carmon (Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central HS) of the Moravian College softball team has been named the Landmark Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for her performance last week.

Carmon, who was also the Landmark Conference Pitcher of the Week on March 30th, won all three of her decisions last week including two in Landmark Conference action as the Greyhounds earned the top seed in the conference tournament for the second straight season.  Carmon was 3-0 with a 0.74 ERA, six strikeouts, one walk and 11 hits allowed in 19 innings of action last week.  She began the week with a 12-0, five-inning win at The Catholic University of America in which she allowed two hits while striking out two batters.  Carmon then earned a 5-2 win at #21 ranked Ramapo College of New Jersey, giving up two runs, only one earned, on five hits with three strikeouts.  Carmon finished the week with a 4-1 win over Susquehanna University, allowing a run on four hits and a walk with one strikeout. 

At the plate, Carmon had four hits in 14 at-bats to go with four runs scored, an RBI and five walks.  She also made eight assists with one error in nine chances in the field.

Moravian, which is 27-9 overall and 9-1 in Landmark Conference action, will return to action on Thursday, April 23rd in a non-conference doubleheader versus rival Muhlenberg College in Bethlehem.  First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at Blue & Grey Field.
