MORAVIAN’S MICHAEL BLENK HONORED AS LANDMARK CONFERENCE MEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Junior sprinter/jumper Michael Blenk (Inwood, NY/Lawrence HS) of the Moravian College men’s indoor track & field team has been named the Landmark Conference Men’s Track Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.

Blenk helped Moravian to a strong showing at the Lehigh University Season Opener to start the year.  He placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 8.95 seconds, and then Blenk was sixth in the 60-meter dash in 7.64 seconds.  In his field events, Blenk had Moravian's only first-place finish with a distance of 6.76 meters (22 feet, 2 1/4 inches) to capture the long jump with an ECAC qualifying distance.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, January 17th at the Orange and Maroon Classic hosted by Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania.
