MORAVIAN’S TRACY FITZPATRICK & KATELYN KILLEA NAMED TO NSCAA/adidas
ALL-MID-ATLANTIC REGION FIRST TEAM

KANSAS CITY, KS --- Senior forward Tracy Fitzpatrick (Wantage, NJ/High Point Regional HS) and senior defender Katelyn Killea (Chatham, NJ/Chatham HS) of the Moravian College women’s soccer team have been named to the 2008 National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas All-Mid-Atlantic Region First Team.

Fitzpatrick, who was named the Landmark Conference Offensive Player of the Year for the second straight season, led the 2007 Greyhounds in scoring with 11 goals and eight assists for 30 points including three game-winning goals and her first two career hat tricks. Fitzpatrick, who missed the entire 2006 season due to an injury, is third in school history with 87 points in her career of 33 goals, ranked third in the record books, and 21 assists, which is tied for second, in just three seasons.

Fitzpatrick, who has been an All-Landmark Conference First Team selection the last two seasons, was on the NSCAA/adidas All-Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team last fall after contributing 33 points on 14 goals and five assists.  She was member of the NSCAA/adidas All-Mid-Atlantic Region First Team in 2005 as a freshman after scoring eight goals and eight assists for 24 points with three game-winning goals.  Fitzpatrick helped Moravian to the NCAA Division III Tournament in each season she was named to the All-Region squad, and she helped the Greyhounds to a 45-18-4 record when in the line-up.

Killea, who was named to the All-Landmark Conference First Team, posted one goal and one assist from her defensive positions.  She has moved to sweeper due to an injury midway through the season.  Killea, pictured at left, was just one of three Moravian players to start in all 22 matches this fall, and she helped the Greyhound defense post a 0.65 goals-against average with 11 shutouts this season.

Fitzpatrick and Killea were two of five players from the Landmark Conference to earn All-Region honors.  Chelsea Paskman from the University of Scranton made the All-Region Second Team while Elyse Bellardini from The Catholic University of America and Ann Mularz of Drew University were named to the All-Region Third Team.

The Greyhounds posted a 14-6-2 record in 2008 while making the program’s third appearance in the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament in the last four years.  Moravian also had a 4-1-1 in the Landmark Conference regular season and captured it’s first-ever conference title in the postseason.
