“Take A Kid to the Game”

MORAVIAN ANNOUNCES ANNUAL “TAKE A KID TO THE GAME” DAY PRESENTED TO THE LEHIGH VALLEY
Come support the Greyhounds at their women’s basketball game December 12th

BETHLEHEM, PA (December 10, 2008) –Moravian College has set a date for its annual NCAA® Women’s Basketball Take A Kid to the Game® day for Friday, December 12, 2008, where they will host the East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania at 7:00 p.m. in Johnston Hall. Area youth 13 and under are invited to attend this special event and receive a free (ticket with the purchase of a full-priced adult ticket. Youth will have the opportunity to experience the college game-day atmosphere and some exciting action as they watch the Greyhounds compete for a win over the Warriors.

Moravian is hosting one of more than 700 games that will be played across the nation as part of the Take A Kid to the Game (TAKG) program in its 14th season.  The project is a grass roots initiative that attracts the nation’s youth and encourages adults to take kids to area college basketball games.

“We are thrilled to invite area youth to our campus and have them help as we cheer on the Greyhounds to victory. It is our hope that adults in the community will bring their children out to experience a collegiate athletic event at Moravian College,” said Paul Moyer, Director of Athletics at Moravian. “We’re expecting a crowd to take part in the intense basketball action at our women’s game!”

Moravian will have giveaways and on-court promotions for the kids, and Moravian’s mascots from First State Greyhound Rescue will also be in attendance.  For more information, contact Moravian College at (610) 861-1534.
