FOUR GREYHOUNDS, MORAVIAN TEAM RANKED IN NCAA DIVISION III WOMEN’S BASKETBALL STATISTICS
Greyhounds Lead Nation in Free Throw Percentage

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Four members of the Moravian College women’s basketball team and the Greyhound squad are ranked in the third NCAA Division III statistics release of the 2008-09 season including games through January 11th.

Junior guard Jessica Foran (Annandale, NJ/Rutgers Prep HS), pictured at right, is fifth in the nation in free throw percentage at 92.5 percent for the season, and she is 62 of 67 at the line in 13 games.  Junior forward Alyssa Bisci (Easton, PA/Easton HS) is ranked 13th in the country in free throw percentage at 91.0 percent having made 71 of 78 free throw attempts.  Bisci, pictured at left, has made 38 straight free throws, having not missed since December 12th versus NCAA Division II East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania.

Sophomore guard/forward Amy Heffner (Schnecksville, PA/Parkland HS), pictured at right, is 32nd in the country in free throw percentage at 87.2 percent, having made 34 of 39 free throw attempts.  Junior guard/forward Kate Harrison (Cold Spring Harbor, NY/Cold Spring Harbor HS), pictured at bottom left, is 41st in the nation in assist-turnover ratio at 1.79.  Harrison has made 50 assists with just 28 turnovers in the Greyhounds’ 13 games this season.

2Moravian moved up one spot to the top team in the nation in free throw percentage this season at 79.9 percent, making 259 of 324 free throw attempts.  The Greyhounds are tied for tenth in won-loss percentage at 92.3 percent and 34th in scoring offense at 74.1 points per game.

The Greyhounds, who are 12-1overall and 3-0 in Landmark Conference action, will return to the court on Wednesday, January 14th in a non-conference game versus Ursinus College tipping off at 7:00 p.m. in Johnston Hall.  Moravian has won ten straight games and is currently ranked 14th in the nation in this week’s D3hoops.com Top 25 poll.
