MORAVIAN’S SYMONNE SCOTT HONORED AS LANDMARK CONFERENCE WOMEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Junior jumper/sprinter Symonne Scott (Attleboro, MA/Attleboro HS) of the Moravian College women’s indoor track & field team has been named the Landmark Conference Women’s Field Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.

The Greyhounds returned to action for the first time in 2009 by competing at the non-scoring Orange & Maroon Classic hosted by Landmark Conference rival Susquehanna University. 

Scott won the long jump with an Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III qualifying distance of 5.27 meters (17 feet, 3 1/2 inches), and she was fourth in the high jump, clearing 1.47 meters (four feet, 9 3/4 inches).  On the track, Scott was second in the 200-meter dash in 27.59 seconds and third in the finals of the 55-meter dash in 7.62 seconds after a time of 7.71 seconds in the preliminaries.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, January 24th at the John Covert Classic hosted by Lehigh University in Bethlehem.
