THREE GREYHOUNDS, MORAVIAN TEAM RANKED IN NCAA DIVISION III WOMEN’S BASKETBALL STATISTICS
Greyhounds Lead Nation in Free Throw Percentage

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Three members of the Moravian College women’s basketball team and the Greyhound squad are ranked in the seventh NCAA Division III statistics release of the 2008-09 season including games through February 8th.

Junior forward Alyssa Bisci (Easton, PA/Easton HS), pictured at right, is ranked third in the country in free throw percentage at 90.4 percent having made 103 of 114 free throw attempts in 21 games.  Bisci had made a school record 50 straight free throws from December 12th to January 25th. 

Junior guard Jessica Foran (Annandale, NJ/Rutgers Prep HS), pictured at left, is ninth in the nation in free throw percentage at 89.3 percent for the season, and she is 75 of 84 at the line in 21 games. 

Sophomore guard/forward Amy Heffner (Schnecksville, PA/Parkland HS), pictured at bottom right, is tied for 19th in the country in free throw percentage at 87.7 percent, having made 50 of 57 free throw attempts in the 20 games she has played in.

Moravian remained top team in the nation in free throw percentage this season for the fourth straight week at 80.0 percent, making 436 of 545 free throw attempts, both also the top numbers in the country.  The Greyhounds are 25th in scoring offense at 73.7 points per game, tied for 31st in won-loss percentage at 81.8 percent and 36th in blocked shots with 4.5 per contest.

The Greyhounds, who are 18-4 overall and 8-3 in Landmark Conference action, will return on Saturday, February 14th when the Greyhounds host Goucher College for a Landmark Conference game at 5:30 p.m. in Johnston Hall.  Moravian will be wearing pink jerseys and participating in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Pink Zone for Cancer Awareness.
