MORAVIAN’S ARIELLE CALDAS HONORED AS LANDMARK CONFERENCE WOMEN’S SOCCER
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Sophomore forward Arielle Caldas (Cherry Hills, NJ/Cherry Hills West HS) of the Moravian College women’s soccer team has been named the Landmark Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for her performance last week.

Caldas netted a pair of hat tricks to lead Moravian to a 2-0 record last week.  She netted three goals, including the game-winner in a 7-1 win over King's College on September 23rd, exactly one year after her first career hat trick.  Caldas only needed three days for her next hat trick, scoring all three goals in a 3-0 win over Drew University to open the 2009 Landmark Conference season.  Caldas' six goals came on just ten shots, and she has ten goals this season.  Caldas has moved into seventh in career goals at Moravian with 21 goals in 28 career matches.

Moravian, which is 5-3-1 overall and 1-0 in Landmark Conference action, is scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, September 30th in a non-conference match at Eastern University beginning at 4:00 p.m.
