MORAVIAN’S KAYLA CARSON HONORED AS LANDMARK CONFERENCE FIELD HOCKEY OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Senior forward Kayla Carson (Leesport, PA/Wyomissing HS) of the Moravian College field hockey team has been named the Landmark Conference Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week for her performance last week.

Carson led Moravian to a 2-0 record last week by scoring four goals including both game-winning goals on 11 shots.  Carson netted her first career hat trick in a 4-2 win over Washington (MD) College.  She then scored the game-winner with 7:46 remaining on a penalty stroke in a 2-1 victory over The University of Scranton in Landmark Conference action.  The goal against the Royals moved Carson into a tie for seventh in career goals with 23 and career points with 57.  She is ninth in career assists with 11.

Moravian, which is 6-8 overall, is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, October 17th in a Landmark Conference match at Goucher College beginning at 1:00 p.m. in Towson, Maryland.
