MORAVIAN’S JENNA CARMON HONORED AS ECAC DIVISION SOUTH SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK

CAPE COD, MA --- Sophomore pitcher Jenna Carmon (Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central HS) of the Moravian College softball team has been named the ECAC Division III South Softball Pitcher of the Week for her performance last week.

Carmon, who was also named the Landmark Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week, helped Moravian post a 5-1 record last week with a 4-1 mark in the circle.  Carmon had a 0.24 ERA, four complete games, two shutouts of Drew University to open the 2010 Landmark Conference season, 19 hits, three runs, just one earned, three walks and 23 strikeouts in 29 1/3 innings.  Carmon's only loss was a 6-5, eight-inning loss at Elizabethtown College, when she tossed the final 1 1/3 innings in relief.  Carmon also had four hits in 17 at-bats with five runs and an RBI.  She also had nine assists in nine chances in the field.

The Greyhounds, who are 12-6 overall, 2-0 in Landmark Conference action and receiving votes in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III Top 25 Poll, are scheduled to return to action on Thursday, April 1st in a non-conference doubleheader at Albright College beginning at 3:00 p.m.
