TWO GREYHOUNDS, TEAM RANKED IN NCAA DIVISION III SOFTBALL STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Two players from the Moravian College softball team, and the Greyhound squad are ranked in the second NCAA Division III statistics release of the 2010 season including games through April 11th.

Sophomore pitcher/infielder Jenna Carmon (Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central HS), pictured right, is ranked in six categories including being seventh in the country in walks per seven innings at 0.77.  Carmon is also tied for 20th in wins with 12, tied for 43rd in shutouts with three, 22nd in hits allowed per game at 5.54, 24th in ERA in 1.48, 43rd in strikeouts with three and 92nd in strikeouts per seven innings at 4.3.

Freshman outfielder/shortstop Katie Gross (Allentown, PA/Parkland HS), pictured left, is eighth in sacrifice hits per game at 0.46, and she is tied for 61st in runs per game at 1.04, and she is 67th in on base percentage at 0.53 and.

The Greyhounds, who are 17-8 on the season, are currently ranked 25th in the nation in ERA at 1.66, and are tied for 22nd in this week’s National Fastptich Coaches Association Division III Top 25 Poll. Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Thursday, April 15th in a non-conference doubleheader vs. Ramapo College of New Jersey at Blue and Gray field, starting at 3:00 p.m.
