MORAVIAN’S ELIZABETH PYTHON HONORED AS LANDMARK CONFERENCE SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Junior pitcher Elizabeth Python (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman) of the Moravian College softball team has been named the Landmark Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for her performance last week.

Python had three effective outings in the circle for the Greyhounds this past week. She tossed 12 innings allowing no earned runs and just one run overall while recording a 1-1 record. She earned the win in a 2-0 victory over Ramapo with 5 1/3 scoreless innings before leaving with an injury. Python came on in relief in Moravian’s Landmark win over Juniata tossing an inning of scoreless relief. She also threw a no-hitter in a loss to Lebanon Valley allowing only one unearned run while going 6 2/3 innings in a losing effort. She allowed only five hits in 12 innings and recorded nine strikeouts.

The Greyhounds, who are 21-9 overall and 6-0 in Landmark Conference action are scheduled to return to action on Wednesday April 21st in a Landmark Conference doubleheader at The University of Scranton beginning at 3:00 p.m.
