THREE GREYHOUNDS, TEAM RANKED IN NCAA DIVISION III SOFTBALL STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Three players from the Moravian College softball team, and the Greyhound squad are ranked in the second NCAA Division III statistics release of the 2010 season including games through April 11th.

Sophomore pitcher/infielder Jenna Carmon (Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central HS), pictured at right, is ranked in six categories including being 11th in the country in walks per seven innings at 0.77.  Carmon is also tied for 15h in wins with 15, tied for 33rd in shutouts with four, 29th in hits allowed per game at 5.5, 29th in ERA in 1.49, and tied for 22nd in saves with two.

Freshman outfielder/shortstop Katie Gross (Allentown, PA/Parkland HS), pictured at left, is ranked seventh in the nation in sacrifice hits per game at 0.47.

Sophomore outfielder Olivia Evanko (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth), pictured at bottom right, is currently tied for 40th in sacrifice hits per game at 0.31.

The Greyhounds, who are 21-9 on the season, are 17th in the nation in ERA at 1.53, and received votes in this week’s National Fastptich Coaches Association Division III Top 25 Poll.  Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, April 21st in a Landmark Conference doubleheader vs. The University of Scranton beginning at 3:00 p.m.
