MORAVIAN MEN'S AND WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD TEAMS RANKED IN NCAA DIVISION III REGIONAL TEAM INDEX

NEW ORLEANS, LA --- The Moravian College women’s track & field team stayed at the top spot in the Mideast Region while the Moravian men went up five spots to third in the Mideast Region in the third NCAA Division III Regional Team Index of the 2010 season released by the U S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Wednesday.

The Greyhound women have a total of 299.33 points and are 23 points ahead of the second team in the Mideast Region, Johns Hopkins who has 276.38 points.  Salisbury University is third with 260.90 points and Haverford College rounds out the top four with a total of 258.38 points.

The Greyhound men have a total of 201.01 points and are currently the third ranked team from the Mideast Region in the rankings.  Salisbury University currently sits on top of the Mideast Region with a total of 366.23 points, and Haverford College is ranked second in the region with 235.08 points.

The scoring system for the teams shall be the sum of two factors measured per individual/relay performance on the descending-order lists in each respective region: place on the descending order list and a weighed value of the individual/relay performance based on the field (“bonus”).

Moravian will return to action on Thursday, April 22nd when they are set compete at the Penn Relays hosted by University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA.
