MORAVIAN’S BRENDAN CLOSE HONORED AS ECAC DIVISION III SOUTH BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK

CAPE COD, MA --- Sophomore pitcher Brendan Close (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom HS) of the Moravian College baseball team has been named the ECAC Division III South Pitcher of the Week for his performance last week.

Close, who also earned Landmark Conference Pitcher of the Week honors, tossed a complete game for a victory in a Landmark win over Drew. He went all seven innings, scattering four hits and surrendering just one unearned run in a 2-1 Greyhound win. He fanned seven hitters, and did not allow an extra base hit in the contest.

The Greyhounds, who are 20-11 overall and 11-4 in Landmark Conference action are scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, April 28th in a non-conference game at Misericordia University starting at 4:00 p.m. in Dallas, PA.
