MORRISON AND MELCHIONNA, TEAM RANKED IN NCAA DIVISION III BASEBALL STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Senior pitchers Chris Morrison (Middlesex, NJ/Immaculata HS) and Joe Melchionna (Marlboro, NJ/St. John Vianney) of the Moravian College baseball team, and the Greyhound squad are ranked in the seventh NCAA Division III statistics release of the 2010 season including games through April 25th.

Morrison, pictured at right, currently has a 2.82 ERA which is tied for 67th in the nation in seven games on the mound.

Melchionna, pictured left, is 19th in the nation in walks allowed per nine innings by only giving up 1.45 in 43 innings on the hill.

The Greyhounds are ranked 27th in the nation in hits allowed per nine innings with an average of 9.14 hits while they are also 47th in ERA which is at 4.34.  They are tied for 25th in the nation in stolen bases per game with an average of 2.42 steals a contest and are also tied for 34th in stolen bases with 75 on the year. 

The Greyhounds, who are 20-11 on the season, are scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, April 28th in a non-conference game at Misericordia University beginning at 4 p.m.
