MORAVIAN TRACK & FIELD TEAMS RANKED IN NCAA DIVISION III REGIONAL TEAM INDEX

NEW ORLEANS, LA --- The Moravian College women’s track & field team stayed at the top spot in the Mideast Region while the Moravian men remain in fourth in the Mideast Region in the fifth NCAA Division III Regional Team Index of the 2010 season released by the U S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Wednesday.

The Greyhound women have a total of 379.57 points and are 55 points ahead of the second team in the Mideast Region, Haverford College who has 324.21 points.  Johns Hopkins is third with 300.14 points and Salisbury University rounds out the top four with a total of 238.49 points.

The Greyhound men have a total of 223.56 points and are currently the fourth ranked team from the Mideast Region in the rankings.  Salisbury University currently sits on top of the Mideast Region with a total of 331.31 points, Haverford College is ranked second in the region with 260.91 points, while Dickinson College comes in at third with 250.95 points.

The scoring system for the teams shall be the sum of two factors measured per individual/relay performance on the descending-order lists in each respective region: place on the descending order list and a weighed value of the individual/relay performance based on the field (“bonus”).

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Friday, May 7th when they are set compete at the 2010 NYC Qualifying Challenge at Icahn Stadium in New York, NY.
