MORAVIAN’S SHANNEN MOHR & ELIZABETH PYTHON HONORED AS LANDMARK CONFERENCE SOFTBALL
PLAYER AND PITCHER OF THE WEEK

            MADISON, NJ --- Freshman third baseman Shannen Mohr (Slatington, PA/Parkland HS) of the Moravian College softball team has been named the Landmark Conference Softball Player of the week while junior pitcher Elizabeth Python (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman HS) earned Pitcher of the Week for their performance last week.
            The duo helped Moravian claim its third straight Landmark Conference Championships, and the program’s 11th consecutive conference title.  The Greyhounds also earned their 12th NCAA Division III National Championship appearance with the title.
            Mohr, pictured at right, was four-for-12, a .333 average, at the plate to go with two runs, nine RBIs, a home run (a walk-off homer in a 3-1 win over Juniata College), four walks, a .471 on-base percentage and a .583 slugging percentage.  In the field, Mohr had five putouts and eight assists in 14 chances in the field.
            Python, pictured at left, had a pair of strong relief performances and picked up the win in the final game, a 7-3 win over Susquehanna, allowing a walk and a strikeout in 3 2/3 innings.  For the tournament, Python tossed 7 2/3 innings with a 0.00 ERA, one unearned run, two hits, two walks and three strikeouts.  At the plate, Python was one-for-two with a run, two walks and a hit by pitch.  She also had a putout and an assist in the field.
            The Greyhounds, who are 30-12 overall – the tenth straight 30-win season, will return to action on Friday, May 14th in the NCAA Regionals hosted by Rhode Island College.
