FIVE GREYHOUNDS, TEAM RANKED IN NCAA DIVISION III SOFTBALL STATISTICS

            INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Five players from the Moravian College softball team, and the Greyhound squad are ranked in the ninth NCAA Division III statistics release of the 2010 season including games through May 9th.
            Sophomore pitcher/infielder Jenna Carmon (Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central HS) is ranked in six categories including being 15th in the country in walks per seven innings at 0.85.  Carmon, pictured at right, is also tied for 17th in wins with 21, tied for 47th in shutouts with five, 51st in hits allowed per game at 5.52, 42nd in ERA in 1.51 and tied for 37th in saves with two.
            Freshman shortstop Katie Gross (Allentown, PA/Parkland HS) leads in the country in sacrifice hits per game with an average of 0.64 per game.  Gross, pictured at left, has a 27 sacrifice bunts in her debut season.
            Freshman first baseman Amanda Dizinno (Budd Lake, NJ/Mount Olive) is currently ranked 79th in toughest to strike out in the nation, striking out once every 27.6 at-bats.  Dizinno , pictured at right, has struck out just five times in 138 at-bats this year.
            Freshman third baseman Shannen Mohr is 49th in the nation in walks per game with an average of 0.59.  Mohr , pictured at bottom left, has drawn 23 walks in her debut season.
            Junior second baseman Stephanie Falzarano (South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield HS) is tied for 90th in toughest to strikeout with one strikeout every 25.8 at-bats.  Falzarano, pictured at bottom tight, has struck out five times in 129 at-bats this spring.
            The Greyhounds, who are 30-12 on the season, are 17th in the nation in ERA at 1.58.  
            Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Friday, May 14th as they open the 2010 NCAA Division III Tournament with a first round game against Neumann University in the Rhode Island College Regional at 12:00 p.m.
