MORAVIAN’S MICHAEL BLENK & CHIDIBERE EZEMMA HONORED AS LANDMARK CONFERENCE
MEN’S TRACK & FIELD ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Senior jumper/sprinter Michael Blenk (Inwood, NY/Lawrence HS) of the Moravian College men’s indoor track & field team has been named the Landmark Conference Men’s Field Athlete of the Week while freshman sprinter Chidibere Ezemma (Pomona, NY/Ramapo HS) for their performances last week.

Blenk, pictured at right, competed in five events at the non-scored Lehigh University Season Opener.  He was third in the long jump with an ECAC qualifying distance of 6.71 meters (22 feet, 1/4 inch) and tied for fifth in the high jump at 1.80 meters (five feet, 10 3/4 inches).  Blenk also competed in the triple jump but failed to record a distance.  On the track, Blenk was the runner-up in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.04 seconds, and he placed tenth in the 60-meter dash in 7.65 seconds.

Ezemma had an outstanding collegiate debut for the Greyhounds at Lehigh University Season Opener.  He won the 200-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 22.94 seconds, and Ezemma captured first in the 400-meter dash in 52.25 seconds.  He was the runner-up in the 60-meter dash in 7.15 seconds, and Ezemma ran the opening leg on Moravian's 4x400-meter relay team that placed second in 3:36.01.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, January 23rd at the Orange and Maroon Classic hosted by Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania.
