MORAVIAN’S RACHEL RIGGS HONORED AS LANDMARK CONFERENCE WOMEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

MADISON, NJ --- Senior jumper/sprinter Rachel Riggs (Gettysburg, PA/Gettysburg HS) of the Moravian College women’s indoor track & field team has been named the Landmark Conference Women’s Field Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.

Riggs helped Moravian to a third place finish of 12 NCAA Division II & III schools at the Thomson Invitational hosted by The University of Delaware.  Riggs captured first in the triple jump with a distance of 10.60 meters (34 feet, 9 1/2 inches), and she was also third in the long jump at 4.95 meters (16 feet, three inches).  On the track, Riggs was third in the 200-meter dash in 27.07 seconds, and she placed eighth in the 60-meter dash in 8.45 seconds.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Friday and Saturday, February 5th and 6th at the New Balance Games at the New York City Armory.
