MORAVIAN TRACK & FIELD TEAMS RANKED IN NCAA DIVISION III DUAL MEET RANKINGS

NEW ORLEANS, LA --- The Moravian College men’s track & field team is ranked 13th in the nation and the Moravian women are ranked 17th in the country in the second NCAA Division III Dual Meet Rankings of the 2010 season released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association late Wednesday.

The Greyhound men have a total of 117.29 points and are the second team from the Mideast Region in the rankings.  Carnegie Mellon University is 12th with 120.44 points.  The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh is the top ranked team in the country with 153.28 points while North Central College is second with 151.36 points.

The Greyhound women have a total of 98.10 points and are the top team from the Mideast Region in the rankings.  The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse is the top ranked team in the country with 131.98 points while North Central College is second with 128.31 points.

A team's total point score is the sum of all points earned by that team in each event. Teams are allowed to select up to two athletes per event, and an athlete can only be used in a maximum of three events (not including relays). Only one relay team per event can be selected. Schools are responsible for submitting their own results. The points are based on the best marks in an event in the current season (it's not the athlete's personal best; it's their best this season), according to www.d3rankings.us which coordinates the poll.

Moravian will return to action on Friday and Saturday, February 5th & 6th at the New Balance Games at the New York City Armory.
