THREE GREYHOUNDS RANKED IN NCAA FIELD HOCKEY STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- The Moravian College field hockey team has three individuals ranked in the first NCAA Division III Field Hockey statistics release of the 2010 season, and the Greyhounds are ranked in the top 50 in eight categories.

Senior midfielder Maureen Helfers (Westbury, NY/W.T. Clarke HS), pictured at right, is seventh in the country with an average of 1.33 assists per game, with four assists in Moravian’s opening three matches of the year.

Sophomore forward Briana Van Buskirk (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg HS), pictured at left, is tied for 40th in goals per game at 1.0 after three goals in three matches.

Sophomore goalie Catherine Gottlieb (Blackwood, NJ/Paul VI HS), pictured at right, is ranked 41st in goals-against average at 1.07.

Moravian 16th in the nation in assists per match at 2.67, and the Greyhounds are 34th in points per game at 8.67, 34th in penalty corners per game at 11.0, 38th in scoring average at 3.0, 39th in goals per game at 3.0, 44th in scoring margin at 1.67, 45th in goals-against average at 1.33, and tied for 48th in winning percentage at 0.667.

The Greyhounds, who are 3-1 on the season, will return to action on Thursday, September 16th in a non-conference match at Arcadia University beginning at 4:00 p.m.
