THREE MORAVIAN FOOTBALL PLAYERS RANKED IN NCAA DIVISION III STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Three members of the Moravian College football team are ranked in the fourth NCAA Division III statistical rankings of 2010 through games of September 25th, and the Greyhounds are ranked in the top 50 in two team categories.

Junior kicker Ian Heck (Easton, PA/Easton HS) is tied for 67th in the country in field goals per game at 0.75.  Heck, pictured at right, is three-for-four on field goal attempts this season with a career long of 41 yards versus Johns Hopkins University.  His only miss would have been a career long 45-yarder at McDaniel College that fell just short of the crossbar.

Senior wide receiver Alex Hersch (Macungie, PA/Emmaus HS) is 79th in the country in punt returns, averaging 7.55 yards per return.  Hersch, pictured at left, has returned 11 punts for 83 yards this season with a long return of 23 yards versus Susquehanna University.

Sophomore linebacker Jake Hildebrand (Emmaus, PA/Emmaus HS) is tied for 94th in the nation in interceptions with an average of 0.50 per game.  Hildebrand, pictured at bottom right, leads the Greyhounds with two interceptions in four games.

Moravian is 39th in the nation in total defense at 263.25 yards per game and 37th in pass efficiency defense at a 96.09 rating.

The Greyhounds will return to action on Saturday, October 2nd in a Centennial Conference game at Dickinson College.  Kickoff is slated for 1:00 p.m. at Biddle Field in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
