THREE GREYHOUNDS RANKED IN NCAA FIELD HOCKEY STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- The Moravian College field hockey team has three individuals ranked in the fifth NCAA Division III Field Hockey statistics release of the 2010 season for contests through October 10th, and the Greyhounds are ranked in the top 50 in two categories.

Senior midfielder Maureen Helfers (Westbury, NY/W.T. Clarke HS) is tied for 35th in the country with an average of 0.58 assists per game, with seven assists in Moravian’s 12 matches this year.  Helfers, pictured at right, had her seven assists in the first six matches of the season.

Senior defender Maura Acox (Old Bridge, NJ/St. John Vianney HS), pictured at left, and sophomore defender Stephanie Pezzello (Holmdel, NJ/St. John Vianney HS), pictured at bottom right, are both tied for 30th in the nation in defensive saves with four each this fall.

Moravian is tied for 21st in defensive saves with a total of ten this season, and the Greyhounds are tied for 47th in the nation in save percentage at .796.

The Greyhounds, who are 5-7 on the season, will return to action on Thursday, October 14th versus Neumann University in a non-conference match beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Betty Prince Field.
