MORAVIAN’S SAMANTHA SAVITE & JESSE KRASLEY NAMED TO LANDMARK ALL-CONFERENCE VOLLEYBALL TEAMS

MADISON, NJ --- Sophomore right side hitter Samantha Savite (Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central HS) of the Moravian College women’s volleyball team has been named to the 2010 Landmark Conference Women’s Volleyball All-Conference First Team announced Tuesday while sophomore libero Jesse Krasley (Allentown, PA/Parkland HS) has earned a spot on the All-Conference Second Team.

The duo has helped the Greyhounds to a 22-11 mark this season, the team’s first 20-win season since 2005, and a berth in the Landmark Conference Tournament.  Moravian was the fourth seed in the conference tournament and reached the semifinals after a 3-3 conference record during the regular season.  On Monday, the Greyhounds were seeded fifth in the 2010 ECAC Division III South Tournament and will travel to fourth seeded Penn State-Altoona for a quarterfinal match on Wednesday, November 10th at 7:00 p.m.

Savite, pictured at top right, leads Moravian this fall with 267 kills and a .236 hitting percentage to go with 47 blocks, 40 digs, four assists and three service aces.  In two seasons, Savite has 491 kills, 116 blocks and 84 digs for the Greyhounds.

Krasley, pictured at left, has a team high and single season school record 620 digs to go with 71 assists and 25 service aces.  Krasley, who started her career at Moravian as an outside hitter, has 926 digs, 95 assists, 47 service aces, 23 blocks and 139 kills in two seasons.
